High potential and gifted education

Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.

At our school, we recognise and nurture these strengths early. We support advanced learners with great lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.

Why choose us for your high potential or gifted child?

Recognising potential and developing talent

Our teachers find potential and nurture our students to be the best they can be.

Tailored lessons

Each student has different abilities. Teachers respond to each student’s ability by providing extra challenges and extension activities to keep learning exciting and engaging.

Rich opportunities and activities

Students can take part in opportunities to develop their talent in the arts, sport, leadership and more.

Opening doors to wider experiences

Our students can participate in a wide range of state-wide opportunities that aim to extend and enrich student potential.

What is high potential and gifted education?

High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

We do this through:

HPGE Opportunities at our school:

We offer high quality learning opportunities to all HPGE students through our programs which include:

Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.

In our classroom

Engagement & Enrichment Class: A specialised program for students demonstrating high potential, offering a rich and stimulating curriculum (Include hyperlink to further information)

Embedded HPGE activities: Enrichment is part of everyday learning, with opportunities designed to extend all students and nurture their talents.

Across our school
Students at our school can engage in a diverse range of academic, creative, cultural, and sporting experiences. These include debating, public speaking, and participation in the Schools Spectacular, Pulse & Compass Music Festival, and the school musical. Students can join the chess club, take part in the Cattle Show Team, or contribute through the Student Representative Council. Our Engagement & Enrichment Program, advanced learning pathways, and the PEAC Stage 3-4 initiatives provide opportunities for academic extension. Creative and performing arts opportunities extend within the school and into the broader community, including Cultural Leadership and Aboriginal Dance Programs. Specialist and representative sporting programs, alongside enrichment, extension, and extracurricular activities, encourage physical development and school representation. Additionally, programs such as the Year 7 River of Learning Activity, the Macquarie University Girls 2 Graduate Program, and Careers Immersion & Extension opportunities help students build skills in leadership, confidence, and responsibility while enriching their overall school experience.
Across NSW
Students have opportunities to shine at the state level in academic competitions, Schools Spectacular, state debating competitions and a wide range of sporting pathways, including swimming, football, rugby, cricket, basketball, AFL, touch football and netball. Many students progress from school events such as athletics and swimming carnivals to regional and state championships.
