Maclean High School Rotary Youth Programs

The Rotary Club of Maclean recently organised and ran the RYDA program at the Raymond Laurie Sports Centre for all Year 10 students. The program focused on driving skills, understanding how a car works, maintenance of a car, listening to real stories, learning and knowing road rules, safe driving, and being involved in speed testing in a car. The students broke up into various groups, with each group being involved in all the different workshops throughout the day. We would like to thank all the members and volunteers who helped organise the program, teaching our Year 10 students some valuable skills.

Below are some of the Rotary Youth Programs that Maclean High School students can participate in.

Rotary Youth Driver Awareness -  RYDA  All year 10 students at Maclean High School are invited to attend RYDA every year.  The day is fully sponsored by The Rotary Club of Maclean.  

The Engineering Summer School   gives students in Year 11 the opportunity to visit five engineering universities, do industry site tours and talk one-on- one with engineers at a careers expo.
  

The ConocoPhillips Science Experience  3 days to give budding Scientists a range of activities under the guidance of professionals.  Griffith University, Gold Coast.  For year 9 and 10 students.

The National Youth Science Forum - NYSF  is an intensive program for those thinking about a career in Science.  Information and discussions on relevant and modern scientific practices. For students in year 12. Takes place in January each year.

Rotary Youth Transition Seminar - RYTS RYTS is a 6 day residential camp for students aged 16-18 years. The camp is aimed at developing leadership and life skills as students transition into adulthood and life after school.

The Rotary Youth Exchange Program enables youth aged 15-18 years to study for up to 12 months in an overseas country.
