Maclean HIgh School Logo

Dear Parents / Carers

May we wish you a very warm welcome to Maclean High School and confirm that a place has been reserved for your child at our school in Year 7 for 2022.

The first day of attendance for Year 7 students in 2022 is Tuesday 1st February. On this day students will need to be at school by 9:00am for an assembly which will be held under the hangar. Students should bring 4 general size exercise books and writing equipment which is part of the Year 7 equipment list as attached for your information and the canteen will be open for students to purchase items if need be.

Equipment such as Visual Arts book, calculator and apron to be used when doing Food Technology in the kitchens, can be purchased from the front office on this day. The music theory book can be paid for at the front office and will be given out to students by the class teacher. For your convenience EFTPOS facilities are available at the school.

Please contact the school or Year Adviser, Amy McBurney, any time you need to, but, please remember that she will also be teaching classes so may not be available straight away. Communication to students occurs through Sentral notices and are also available through the student and parent portal. Assemblies are conducted each week on Wednesdays. A newsletter for parents is emailed home each fortnight. Parents are encouraged to log on to Maclean High School Sentral Parent Portal. Instructions for this process will be sent out at the beginning of the school year. The school website and MHS Facebook page are also available to provide further information. Please contact the school front office if you have changed your email address or you think you have not given it to us. When a student is absent from school it is the responsibility of the parent/caregiver to send a note stating the date/s and the reason for the absence within 7 days of the absence. This note must be signed. A phone call can be made to the office or by email to the school, or alternatively, reply to the SMS. Students should only be absent from school because of illness or urgent, unavoidable circumstances.

If you decide your child will not be attending Maclean High School please notify the school as soon as possible so that this vacancy may be offered to another student.

If you have any questions or need any further information please contact Mrs Kane, Ms McBurney or

Mr Court on 6645 2244 who will deal with any enquiries.

We look forward to meeting you in person at some time in the near future.
